A Carson City company that's rolling out a national organization for businesswomen said last week it hopes to raise $1 million through a public stock offering.
Women Entrepreneurs of the World Inc. said in a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission that it doesn't expect to register the offering with SEC under an exemption that's available to small issuers.
Minimum investment will be $5,000, the company said.
Women Entrepreneurs of the World Inc. was launched this year by Christina Virden.
She said last month that the organization has chapters in Reno, Sparks, the Carson Valley, the Lake Tahoe area and Fallon.
