Randa Luggage, a manufacturer and distributor of luggage, casual bags, backpacks and business cases, said last week it's launched operation of a 234,000-square-foot distribution center at Tahoe Reno Industrial Center.
The company headquartered at Totowa, N.J., said the West Coast distribution center will allow it to get products into retail channels more quickly and more efficiently. Randa's primary distribution center is a 230,000-square-foot facility in New Jersey.
Randa leased the space in the USA Parkway Distribution Center owned by Multi-Employer Property Trust of Washington, D.C. The owner was represented by the industrial services team of CB Richard Ellis in the lease negotiations. An Illinois firm represented Randa.
The luggage company distributes products, which include licensed and proprietary brand such as Tommy Bahama, Nautica, Diane von Furstenberg, Perry Ellis, Chaps, Liz Claiborne, and Columbia Sportswear, through 5,000 retailers nationwide.
Randa didn't disclose employment figures at the new distribution center.
