Sierra Nevada Corp. continues to expand its workforce in northern Nevada, which currently numbers about 400.
The company currently has 40 open positions, said Amy Martin, a corporate recruiter with the company, and it's boosted its northern Nevada staff by 80 this year.
Sierra Nevada Corp. has seen growth as it moves into solar-energy development and continues to win defense and aerospace contracts.
Martin said the new jobs in Sparks range from engineering and corporate administration to operations and production positions. The company works closely with the University of Nevada, Reno, in filling some of its professional and engineering positions.
