Walgreens decided at the last minute against closure of a store at Neil Road and South Virginia Street.
The 10,700-square-foot store was scheduled to close at the end of 2008. A Walgreens spokesman said last week the company decided the costs of closure including the costs of buying out the lease instead dictated that the store should stay open.
The location previously housed Tower Records, and Walgreens executives have noted it's smaller than the company's newly built stores.
