Integris Marketing LLC of Reno has organized a networking group for companies wanting to go green or get greener. The group met for the first time a few days ago at Whole Foods Market culinary center.
"We wanted to have a way for green businesses to network," says Jenna Brooke O'Neil, partner at Integris where she, along with spouse Blair O'Neil, brand their approach as "eco-aware marketing."
To jump start attendance at the networking group, the firm sent 150 email blasts to a list it had compiled using the Reno Green Guide, published by Nevada EcoNet, supplemented with more green companies that had been featured in local newspaper articles.
Integris walks the talk, says O'Neil. "We had been recycling to the max" at the home-based business the O'Neil's have operated for 12 years.
But when she approached a company about reducing its environmental footprint, O'Neil says, "A lot of companies do not have a clue. But others have been thinking about it and are ready to take that next step. We get them the best prices we can on recycled papers."
And those companies that show no interest in going green? "We don't take them on as clients."
