The Fallon Paiute-Shoshone Tribe has completed construction of Fox Peak Station Fernley, a convenience store, gas station and smoke shop on 1.6 acres in Fernley and readied a pad on an additional three-quarters of an acre for potential tenants.

Shaver Construction of Sparks completed the $3 million project on time and under budget, says Lance Shumway, assistant economic development director for the Fallon Tribal Development Corp. The tribe footed the bill for the project by lending to its development arm.

"Shaver was an excellent general contractor to work with," Shumway says. "They were very timely in their responses and kept to their time frame."

The Fallon Paiute-Shoshone Tribe seeks potential tenants interested in building at the site at Highway 50 Alternate and Nevada Pacific Parkway. The tribe also has a 33-acre parcel it plans on developing on the east side of Fallon.

"Right now with the economy the way it is and a lot of potential tenants holding their expansion plans, it has made things a little bit of a challenge," Shumway says. "But the tribe does have some projects it is considering moving forward with."

Fox Peak Station in Fernley was designed by Dube Group Architecture of Reno. Lumos and Associates was the civil engineer.
