A Reno company that published regional magazines and operated a printing plant plans to liquidate under Chapter 7 of the federal bankruptcy code.

Media Management LLC is the publisher of The Wolf Pack Edge, which focuses on athletics at the University of Nevada, Reno, as well as Clever Magazine, a shopping and fashion publication, and Northern Nevada Family Life, an online magazine.

The company's titles also included Best Deals Magazine, and it was licensed to publish a local edition of Kidsville News.

Media Management also owned Bear Industries Printing and Publishing, a Sparks printing company that it purchased in early 2008.

A bankruptcy petition filed by Media Management LLC shows the company was owned by equal partners Ken Moen of Sparks and Frank Sumner of Emeryville, Calif.

Moen was among the founders of Northern Nevada Business Weekly in 2002, and served for a time as co-publisher of the newspaper. He sold his interest in NNBW in 2005.

In its bankruptcy filing, Media Management said it debts total about $539,000 mostly money owed to printers and other suppliers while its assets total about $109,000.

U.S. Bancorporation is the publishing company's largest creditor, holding $140,000 in secured debt.

Efforts to reach Moen by phone and e-mail last week were unsuccessful.

Media Management is represented in its bankruptcy filing by attorney Nathan Zeltzer of Reno. A court-supervised meeting of the company's creditors is set for July 16.
