Renown-area retail under construction

Giroux Plaza, a shopping center situated on Giroux Street northeast of Renown Medical Center, will open in late summer, with a slate of prospective tenants that include a sandwich shop, florist, cleaners and pharmacy.

The center's seven units are divisible into roughly 930 to 1,600-square-foot units, says Ken Mattison of Grubb & Ellis|NCG, who with Tad Loran handles leasing.

Situated on nearly an acre, the center's two buildings measure 6,400 and 3,600 square feet. The architect is

Robert Hoffman of Menasha, Wis., and the contractor is Bjorkman Construction Inc. of Reno.

Giroux Plaza developers Norman Prupas and Malin Prupas previously developed the Market Street Center, visible from Highway 395. They later sold it to a Harley-Davidson dealership, says Prupas.
