Green Lizard Landscape LLC of Carson City was recognized for the best overall entry in a competition sponsored by the Nevada Landscape Association.
The company was recognized for its work at the Langlotz residence. The project also was recognized as the best residential renovation valued at $50,000 or more.
Green Lizard also won the NLA Environmental Award, which recognizes design and construction that's environmentally balanced, for its work on the Sullivan/Dahlin residence.
Other winners in the Annual Trophy Awards competition included:
* Residential installation of less than $50,000: Tie between Green Lizard Landscape for the Sullivan/Dahlin residence and Moana Total Outdoors of Reno for the Middleton residence.
* Large commercial installation: Signature Landscapes of Reno for Foothill Square.
* Commercial renovation: Signature Landscapes for Double Diamond Master Association retrofit. Second place to Signature for the RSCVA West Plaza expansion.
* Large commercial or public maintenance: Signature Landscapes for Barron Way building. Second place to Signature for Reno Corporate.
* Medium-sized commercial or public maintenance: Signature Landscapes for Esplanade Homeowners Association. Second place to Signature for Longley Pro Campus.
* Small commercial or public maintenance: Reno Lawn & Landscape for Cassero Models. Second place to Signature Landscapes or Saint Mary's Health.
* Large residential maintenance: Reno Lawn & Landscape for the Haws residence. Second place to Green Lizard Landscape for the Langlotz residence.
Small residential maintenance: Reno Lawn & Landscape for the Kieffaber residence.
Hardscaping: Moana Total Outdoors for the Gates residence. Second to Signature Landscapes for the Carson Tahoe Cancer Center.
The Tony Armstrong Humanitarian Award, given to an individual or company who has given to benefit the community: Moana Total Outdoors and Reno Lawn & Landscape.
Education Award: Jim Stanhouse, Reno Lawn & Landscape and Ellis Antunez.
Ambassador Award, given to an individual who has served a representative for the Green Industry: Debra Rae Drew, executive director for Nevada Landscape Association.
Lifetime Achievement Award: Bill Carlos, Wilbur D. May Arboretum.
