Legend Valve and Fitting leased 40,000 square feet of warehouse space at the Lear Industrial Center in Stead to maintain and exceed the company's performance guarantees, says Larry Emmert, director of operations.
Legend Valve and Fitting previously had been located in about 20,000 square feet at 640 Maestro Drive. The company expanded its Reno facilities to support current and planned growth in the western region. Legend Valve and Fitting distributes its product lines from Reno and its corporate headquarters in Shelby Township, Mich.
"Our business model is completely performance-based," Emmert says. "We guarantee 100 percent fill rates, shipping within 24 hours, error-free transactions and hassle-free returns. Our Nevada facility allows us to continue to provide our customers maximum inventory return on investment as we continue to expand in this region."
Emmert says the company eventually expects to hire more staff as well.
Legend expects to move its operations from south Reno to Stead beginning Dec. 1. Legend Valve and Fitting designs, manufactures and distributes residential plumbing valves and fittings, commercial and industrial valves and fittings, and radiant and hydronic heating products and accessories.
Emmert says the hardest part of the company's expansion so far was narrowing down a new space from a long list of available properties. It chose Stead because of the quality of the property and availability of workforce.
Tom Miller of Miller Industrial Properties helped Legend secure a five-year lease at the Panattoni Development-owned space. Doug Roberts and Paul Kinne represented Panattoni Development in the lease transaction.
