Tourism group begins membership drive

The Reno-Tahoe Chapter of Skal International, a group of tourism industry professionals, this month launches a membership drive.

Dana Shores, the director of leisure sales at the Peppermill Resort Spa Casino who serves as the chapter's president, said the 30-member chapter of Skal International hopes to add at least 10 members this month.

The international group headquartered in Spain provides networking, both locally and internationally, as well as professional development opportunities for managers and directors of tourism companies. Members locally range from executives of ski and golf facilities to managers of hotels, transportation providers and tourism destinations, Shores said.
