Truckee Meadows Community College has been accredited by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency to provide the agency's training for the renovation, repair and painting program.
Federal law requires that contractors that disturb painted surfaces in homes, child care facilities and schools built before 1978 be certified to prevent lead contamination.
TMCC was the 11th organization in the nation to receive the accreditation.
