The group that's opening an Einstein Bros Bagels store at Kietzke Lane and South McCarran Boulevard has plans to launch as many as seven stores in the region during the next six years.
The Einstein Bros. Bagels store in south Reno it's in the former Krispy Kreme location is expected to be open by October, said Steve Reimer, a Reno businessman who's part of a group that purchased area development rights for Einstein Bros. franchised stores in Washoe and Douglas counties as well as Carson City.
The stores mark the company's first foray into northern Nevada. Einstein Noah Restaurant Group, the chain's parent company, oversees more than 400 company-owned, licensed and franchised stores nationwide from its headquarters at Lakewood, Colo.
The 4,408-square-foot space leased for the company's first location in Reno is larger than most Einstein Bros. locations, Reimer said. More typically, the stores are in about 2,500 square feet.
Each of the stores employs 15 to 20 full- and part-time workers.
Along with coffee, bagels and other morning foods, Einstein Bros. stores offer a lunch menu.
Roxanne Stevenson, Rick Casazza and Adam Wexelblatt of Colliers International represented the landlord, Preferred Community Management, as well as Reimer's franchise group in the lease of the south Reno location.
