With a new management team in place and rebranding efforts expected to be completed by April 1, executives at Siena Hotel Spa Casino began staff additions last week.

The casino on the Truckee River at Lake and Mill streets expected to hire more than a dozen employees during a job fair last week. Siena needed to restaff after job cuts last year, Human Resources Manager Mindi Brenner says.

General Manager Clyde Callicott took over the property in November and has initiated a reconfiguration of the gaming floor, adding new tables and slot machines.

The Siena also has added a new upstairs bar in place of its arcade, and brought in new musicians to play at Enoteca wine bar. Rooms also are being repainted and retouched, Brenner says.
