Philomena "Phyl" McCaffrey has been named controller for the University of Nevada, Reno.
McCaffrey joined the university in 2005 as senior financial accountant in the controller's office. She previously worked 10 years in the Nevada State Controller's Office. A certified public accountant, McCaffrey also has worked in accounting for the Nevada Housing Division and a private accounting firm, Anderson, Behrenz & Company.
She earned a bachelor's degree from UNR.
