NNBW: What role do you play in the company?
Trimble-Mason: Chief financial officer, human resource director, administrator, interior decorator, janitor, nurse, babysitter and anything else that needs to be done. I like a big variety and I keep busy!
NNBW: How did you get into this profession?
Trimble-Mason: My family has been in commercial printing forever. I spent many of my summers and holidays working part-time for a major printer in Sacramento, where I grew up. I left the industry to become a paralegal for a large Sacramento law firm. After graduating college, I was again recruited to work for the printer as their director of human resources, where I worked for 11 years. When my dad purchased DynaGraphic Printing, my husband and I decided to move our family to Reno and contribute to the family business!
NNBW: What is something no one knows about your job?
Trimble-Mason: My job is not all about numbers. It's also about working with people to help with them overcome everyday obstacles that get thrown their direction. I love going out with sales and meeting our customers to see if there is anything more we can be doing to help with their businesses.
NNBW: If you could have had any other profession what would it have been? Why wasn't it your first choice?
Trimble-Mason: I used to want to be a lawyer, but knowing what I know now, I would rather have worked with a cruise line so I could meet a wide variety of people and travel all the time. I wasn't thinking rationally back then!
NNBW: What do you like to do when you're not working?
Trimble-Mason: I love spending time with my family and friends. I enjoy walking, hiking, bike-riding, swimming, reading, watching movies, traveling, etc.
NNBW: Have any advice for someone who wants to enter your profession?
Trimble-Mason: Be flexible and adaptable. This industry is changing so quickly and dramatically that if you're not ready to grow and change, you'll be left behind.
NNBW: If you could have one superpower, what would it be and why would you want it?
Trimble-Mason: I would like to possess the power to cure world hunger. It really bothers me to think of all the malnourished people in the world.
NNBW: What person, living or dead, would you most like to have dinner with, and why?
Trimble-Mason: Former President Ronald Reagan. I think he was a fascinating individual and he was also a real person. I would have loved to hear his stories ranging from Hollywood to Washington, DC.
NNBW: What's the best advice anyone ever gave you?
Trimble-Mason: "Market yourself in busy and slow times. (That includes today's sluggish economy.)"
NNBW: What do you like most about your job? What do you like least?
Trimble-Mason: I love the rapidly changing atmosphere of the print industry. We have grown into becoming a marketing solutions provider and it's a lot of fun and rewarding to assist companies with strategizing their marketing needs. I don't like when our work or service falls short of anyone's expectations.
NNBW: What five words would most people use to describe you?
