David Nour and Scott Klososky will keynote a regional conference on social media sponsored by the University of Nevada, Reno.

The conference, sm@rt 2010 (the name is drawn from "Social Media @ Reno-Tahoe") will run Dec. 8-10 at John Ascuaga's Nugget Casino Resort in Sparks.

Nour, the author of "Relationship Economics" and whose clients include Disney, Hilton Hotels and the American Cancer Society, is known for his work on the quantifiable value of business relationships.

Klososky, the former chief executive officer of three technology-related startup companies, is the author of three books on social media to be released this year.

Todd Felts, assistant professor and director of the graduate program in interactive journalism at UNR's Reynolds School of Journalism, has said the conference may draw as many as 500 people.

"There are many conferences popping up in social media, but few are in the region and even fewer focus on smart ways to reach customers and create effective dialogues," Felts said.

The sm@rt 2010 conference is hosted by UNR's College of Business, its Reynolds School of Journalism and its Extended Studies program.

Along with the keynote speakers, the event will include about two dozen speakers and breakout sessions on social media.
