U.S. Ordnance, a weapons manufacturer headquartered at Tahoe Reno Industrial Center, last week was awarded three contracts worth $1.52 million to provide weaponry to the Philippine Marine Corps. Force Recon Battalion and the National Army of Columbia.
The largest contract, $1.15 million, is to supply the Philippine Marine Corps with 60 new M60 E4 belt-fed automatic machine guns and 60 conversion kits to upgrade older models of the gun, U.S. Ordnance executive Steve Helzer says. The two smaller contracts are to provide the Columbian Army with 23 and 30 M60 machine guns.
