Greenhouse Garden Center has announced it's lineup of free seminars for April. Most are outside, so come prepared with a jacket, if needed. Reservations are not required for these seminars. Unless otherwise noted, David Ruf, owner of Greenhouse Garden Center, will present the seminars.

• 11 a.m. Sunday - Attracting Birds To Your Yard
Elona Lathrop of Greenhouse Garden Center will give a free seminar. Lathrop, a local birder, has been counting and observing birds in Northern Nevada for several years. Her vast knowledge in bird identification and habits will be very interesting to all gardeners who enjoy attracting birds into their yards.
• 10 a.m. April 9 - Let's Start the Garden - Planting Cool Season Crops
April is the time to start planting cool season crops outdoors from seed. This usually includes vegetables like lettuce, broccoli, cabbage, onions and more. It is also time to start warm season vegetables indoors. This includes vegetables like tomatoes, peppers, and squashes.

Northern Nevada is a wonderful area to grow roses. Color choices range from white to deep reds, all shades of pink, lavender, yellow and even multicolors. Rose types include tea, floribunda, climbing, minis, tree, carpet and grandifloras.

• 10 a.m. April 23 - Let's Talk Fruit Trees In Northern Nevada
Here in Northern Nevada, we have a wide variety of fruit trees that will grow and will give a good fruit yield. David Ruf will discuss grafting fruit trees. There will also be a large selection of fruit trees available for purchase.
