(AP) - The University of Nevada at Reno is unveiling the full impact of the governor's proposed $58.8 million in budget cuts.

Reductions would include 318 positions permanently eliminated, consolidating the College of Agriculture, Biotechnology and Natural Resources into the College of Science, and consolidating the College of Education into the College of Liberal Arts.

Majors and minors in educational leadership, nutrition and philosophy would be eliminated.

Previous versions of the budget did not account for all potential cuts needed to accommodate the governor's budget. A subcommittee last month directed the Nevada System of Higher Education to identify all possibilities by April 5.

The new cuts come along with previously announced reductions at UNR that included eliminating French, theater and dance majors, raising tuition and reducing salaries by 5 percent.
