The Carson School District is participating in The First Tee National School Program, which introduces students to golf and the core values that are associated with the game during regular P.E. classes.

The program will start at Bordewich-Bray Elementary School this spring. Empire, Fremont, Fritsch, Mark Twain, and Seeliger elementary schools will implement The National School Program during the 2011 fall semester.

As the program sponsor, The First Tee of Northern Nevada is providing equipment, curriculum manuals, training and support to the school district.

Key objectives of the program include developing student appreciation of the positive values associated with the game of golf and presenting golf to students as a lifelong recreation and physical fitness activity.
