FERNLEY (AP) - The Nevada Highway Patrol says an 82-year-old Montana man is dead after a tractor-trailer slammed into his pickup truck while he tried to make an illegal U-turn on Interstate 80 in Northern Nevada.
The NHP says the man was driving a silver Chevrolet pickup truck and towing a trailered fishing boat when the crash occurred about 5 p.m. Tuesday just east of Fernley.
The NHP says the Montana driver was pronounced dead at the scene. The tractor-trailer driver wasn't hurt. Neither was immediately identified.
