April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month and the students of Health Occupations Students of America are trying to bring awareness to this devastating event.
HOSA is collecting used clothes of any type. Clothes can be dropped off at the attendance office, library or room 206.
All clothes will be donated to Advocates to End Domestic Violence in support of their local shelter. HOSA members also will be recognizing Denim Day on Thursday.
They will be hanging decorated jeans throughout CHS and asking students to wear denim as an act against sexual assault.
Denim Day originates from a 1999 Italian court case in which the court overturned a rape conviction because the victim was wearing tight jeans. It was stated that, "the victim must have helped the attacker remove her jeans."
