Rodeo clown Marvin Nash left Carson City on Monday, rolling a barrel on his way to Las Vegas as part of a campaign to bring awareness to bullying.
Nash is the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association's Barrel Man and co-creator of the Bullying Hurts Program. He left Reno on Friday and expected to arrive in Las Vegas within 40 days. His effort is called "Rolling for Resolutions, 40 Days and 40 Ways to Combat Bullying."
His trek promotes the upcoming Leading the Charge Against Bullying Conference, which will be held Oct. 4-7 at the Plaza Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas.
Bullying Hurts is an educational program that uses educators and high school mentors as role models to deliver a positive anti-bullying message to elementary age children.
Marvin and Darlene Nash, the co-creators of Bullying Hurts, have designed the conference to target the importance of a community approach to the problems associated with bullying and to help attendees address the issue in their own communities and organizations.
