RENO (AP) - Police say a shooting on the University of Nevada, Reno campus prompted a four-hour lockdown of dormitories Saturday night.

UNR Police Chief Adam Garcia says a man who is not a student was confronted and shot by another man shortly after 8 p.m. near the Fleischmann Building.

The victim was taken to a Reno hospital for treatment of a gunshot wound to the leg. His condition was unknown Sunday.

A UNR police spokesman says students were not allowed to go in and out of dormitories until shortly after midnight Saturday when the safety of the campus was assured.

Reno police say separate shootings nine hours apart Friday near UNR were related. Police say both shootings involved a resident and burglary suspects.
