A boil-water order was lifted for Indian Hills residents Friday night after a second test came back clean.

The test results from a lab in Sparks arrived later than expected, according to District Manager John Lufrano of the Indian Hills General Improvement District.

He said he would use the "reverse 911" phone system to contact residents and post the all-clear on the district's website, www.indian

hillsnevada.com.

The boil-water order was issued after portions of the water system went dry Wednesday morning after the computer that controls the pumps crashed and failed to alert district employees to the problem.

It's standard procedure to issue a boil-water order after a water system runs dry in case contaminants are drawn back into the system through leaky portions.

Lufrano said the first test came back clean Thursday.
