Silver State High School's theater group, the Silver State Stars, presents "Treasure Island" at 7 p.m. tonight through Saturday at Silver State High School.
This production is made possible by arrangement with Pioneer Drama Service and is based on the novel by Robert Louis Stevenson, adapted for the stage by Joseph George Caruso.
"Treasure Island" tells the tale of villainous Long John Silver and his band of pirates, who follow young Jim Hawkins across the ocean to search out a buried fortune on Treasure Island.
"I love pirates and was looking for a play that would be both fun for my students to do and for audiences to watch," said drama teacher and director Abbey Gardner.
"When a student shared the script of 'Treasure Island' with me, I grabbed it right up and decided we would do the show. My cast and crew are having a great time with it. They cannot wait to perform the show and share it with an audience."
Tickets at the door will be $7 for general seating.
Reserve tickets are available by calling 775-883-7900.
