RENO (AP) - A new study at the University of Nevada, Reno says the school's athletic program contributed more than

$18 million to the local economy over the past year.

About $4.5 million of that came from out-of-town visitors with the other $14 million generated by the athletic department's annual business operations during the 2010 fiscal year.

UNR's Center for Regional Studies says that translates into 261 full-time jobs in the Reno-Sparks area.
