(AP) - Clark County would be required to identify and construct 15 more bus turnouts in the Las Vegas region under a bill to be considered by the Senate Government Affairs Committee.
SB137 applies only to regional transportation commissions in counties with a population of 400,000 or more. In Nevada, only Clark County meets the definition.
An existing law required the RTC to design and build 10 bus stops by Dec. 31, 2012. The law requires the turn outs to be built on land owned by the state or local government.
The bill to be considered Wednesday would require construction of another 15 bus stops over the next four years.
