General Metals Corp., a Reno mining company, replaced its president and elected three new members to its board to settle what the company termed a friendly dispute among groups of shareholders.
Daniel Forbush, a certified public accountant in Reno, was named chief executive officer of the company. He succeeds Paul Wang, who was named to the position in September.
Forbush, who previously served as the company's chief financial officer, will remain in that role as well.
Elected to the board of publicly held General Metals were Larry Bigler, a CPA in Reno and a former executive of Getchell Gold; Keith Belingheri of Winnemucca, vice president of operations for Inter-Rock Minerals Inc.; and Dan Dyer, president of Dyer Engineering Consultants in Reno.
The company said last week it completed a private placement in mid-December that provided immediate funding of $125,000.
General Metals recorded a loss of nearly $154,000 in its most recent quarter and has accumulated losses of nearly $10 million since its inception in 2006.
The company is developing the Independence gold project southwest of Battle Mountain.
