Orthopedic Implant Co., a newly formed Reno company, has begun raising $1.4 million through an equity offering to sophisticated investors.
The company said in a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission last week that it's raised $450,000 so far. Minimum investment is $25,000.
Among the company's directors are orthopedic surgeons Peter Althausen and Timothy Bray of Reno. Its president is Itai Nemovicher of Truckee.
