Man found dead on East Telegraph Street

A transient man with a history of medical problems was found dead in the middle of East Telegraph Street downtown this morning.

According to Sgt. Brian Humphrey, a newspaper delivery person discovered the man, described as in his 60s, just before 7 a.m. in 100 block of East Telegraph Street just off Carson Street.

Humphrey said businesses in the area reported the man had been there late last night and earlier this morning.

Detective Dave LeGros said the man, who has a history of seizures, had apparently been seen at the hospital yesterday. He still had indicia on him indicating treatment, LeGros said.

The incident is under investigation.

Telegraph Street between Carson and Plaza streets will be closed for about a hour.
