Carson Tahoe Regional Medical Center was named one of America's most beautiful hospitals in a contest held by Soliant Health, a leading specialty healthcare staffing provider and part of Adecco Group.
The Carson City hospital, which opened in 2005, received 13th place in the contest, which is in its third year.
"We are honored to have been selected as one of America's Most Beautiful Hospitals," said Ed Epperson, President and CEO of Carson Tahoe Regional Healthcare. "Carson Tahoe Regional Medical Center was designed with patients and families in mind. We are all proud to serve our community with a hospital that promotes healing through both architectural design and quality care."
Almost 70,000 people voted in the contest, according to Soliant.com.
"There's no question that a hospital like Carson Tahoe Regional Medical Center draws attention to the importance of a hospital's atmosphere," said David Alexander, president of Soliant Health. "When a hospital is designed with patient and staff needs in mind, the healing process can take place with improved morale and efficiency for staff members."
Bon Secours St. Francis Medical Center of Midlothian, Va., was named the 2011 winner.
