Forgiveness: A crazy man named Clark wandered about Carson exhorting all to get on their knees and ask for the forgiveness of their sins, promising those who were sincere that they would see Jesus before night.

120 YEARS AGO

Orphans' Home: The largest bill allowed by the State Board of Examiners for June was $1,800 which was paid to A. C. Pratt for completion of the artesian well, windmill and tank at the Orphans' Home.

70 YEARS AGO

Corbett-Fitzsimmons fight: Old timers tell stories about "Bill" Kinney, sheriff at the time of the fight in 1897. He took drastic measures in dealing with "bums" who appeared in Carson before the fight. The undesirables were rounded up and thrown in stone-walled cells and kept hungry enough to eat any fare placed before them by the time Kinney had a meal. Then "bums" were taken from jail and escorted to the city limits with the instructions to "scram".

50 YEARS AGO

Births at Carson-Tahoe Hospital: Mr. and Mrs. John Pettyjohn of Al Tahoe are parents of a boy; Mr. and Mrs. Richard Howe of Stateline are parents of a girl.

20 YEARS AGO

Western Nevada Community College offers "Touch-Tone Telephone Registration (TTTR)." Students will be able to call WNCC from any touch tone telephone to register for any credit classes.
