LAS VEGAS (AP) - Former U.S. Rep. Dina Titus wants to return to Washington to represent a Nevada congressional seat.
The Democrat announced Tuesday that she will run for a U.S. House seat in 2012, saying she wants to build on her previous record.
Titus served one two-year term before she lost her re-election bid last November to Republican Joe Heck, who hopes to be re-elected in 2012.
It's unclear what district Titus, Heck or any of Nevada's House candidates will ultimately try to represent.
Nevada is in the middle of a once-a-decade redistricting process to redraw its voting districts. Lawmakers failed to agree on a redistricting plan during the legislative session that ended last month, and the matter is now in the hands of a Carson City judge.
Nevada picks up a fourth House seat next year.
