A wild fire burning near Bain Street in Storey County along Geiger Grade has caused the evacuation of three structures. Helen Frazier of the Sierra Front resource center says the 5 plus acre fire is near the Virginia City historic district.

The website says the fire started about 4 p.m. Saturday. Storey County Sheriff's Department is handing the evacuations.

Even through there is rain in the area, no precipitation has hit the area. Gusty winds are making it difficult for firefighters.
