El Paso Corp. said last week it placed its Ruby Pipeline in service.
The newly built, 680-mile natural gas line cuts across northern Nevada on its route from Opal, Wyo., to interconnections near Malin, Ore. It delivers natural gas from the Rocky Mountain basins to customers in Nevada, California and the Pacific Northwest.
Houston-based El Paso Corp. said the Ruby Pipeline is the first interstate natural gas pipeline to achieve carbon neutrality in its construction and operation.
Global Infrastructure Partners of New York City and London, which invested $700 million in the Ruby Pipeline., will take a 50 percent stake in the completed project.
