Road Daddy rocks Paradise Cove Cafe on Friday as the third season of Concerts at the Cove begins.

"We will be serving up acoustic guitar from 5 to 7 p.m., followed by live bands from 7 to 11 p.m., every Friday, now through September," said Doug Cramer, who owns the restaurant with his wife, Jamesa.

The scheduled bands will be playing classic rock 'n' roll from the '50s, '60s and '70s on the patio at Paradise Cove Cafe, as has been the case in past years.

In addition to enjoying some of the best local talent, Concerts at the Cove offers patrons patio seating and full menu choices.

"People come to hear the music and relax, eat and enjoy the music and the environment," Cramer said.

"We often start the evenings earlier with families and then the crowd changes and it becomes a revolving door of changing personalities.

"I think that's one of the things I like most about this, is how the crowd crosses generations through the evening and it's just a great way to give back to the community and introduce what we do here to a broad audience."

In addition to good entertainment and food drawing business, Cramer believes his motto that "you should be able to taste alcohol in your drink," is also what draws patrons consistently to "the Cove."

It's this idea of opening his home to friends that continues to be Cramer's underlying mission, one he brings to his business.

"We just wanted a fun, comfortable place for people to enjoy themselves."

A full schedule of rock 'n' roll is in place, with an all acoustic evening planned for the weekend after Labor Day.

"We're thinking it would be a great time to open up that evening for any musician who wants to sit in," Cramer said.

This month's schedule is Baker Street, June 10; Unusual Suspects, June 17 and AM & FM, June 24.
