Paul Tanguay, managing member of Symbio Ventures of Reno, which specializes in real estate sales and brokerage, was hired last week as president of John Dermody Ventures.
Tanguay succeeds Leasing Manager John Hart, who will seek other opportunities, the company says, and General Manager Lash Turville, who is retiring.
"Paul brings a strong 30-year real estate track record to our team, and we are excited to have him take over the reigns as our president, says Gigi Turville, chief executive officer and managing partner for John Dermody Ventures. "We determined that we must continue our legacy of strong relationship building and pioneering new approaches and innovation in servicing the 15 U.S. commercial real estate markets we currently operate in and consider further enhancing our market positions. To do this we must work smart and lean, and seize the opportunities that finally are starting to pencil after this long decline we have experienced."
John Dermody Ventures manages just under 700,000 square feet of medium-sized industrial, office and retail space, primarily in the Reno-Sparks area. Tanguay says that after several years of stagnation the commercial real estate is showing new signs of life, and the changes better positions John Dermody Ventures to capitalize on future opportunities.
"We are looking at a longer-term strategy to not only enhance our present positions in 15 different cities but also to add new cities," Tanguay says.
