Veterans cemetery contract

Spanish Springs Construction won a $16.98 million contract with the Department of Veterans Affairs to expand the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne, Mass.

The contract includes development of nearly 20 acres of land with 6,114 pre-placed crypts, 1,000 cremain sites and close to 4,500 columbarium niches, which are used to house urns containing cremains.

Spanish Springs Construction also will construct new on-site administration and maintenance buildings, as well as roads, irrigation and utility systems.
