An accident Saturday evening damaged a stop light at Fifth and Roop streets and resulted in a driver being cited for failure to use due care.
According to Capt. Clay Wall, said the driver was southbound on Roop Street when they attempted to make a left turn onto Fifth Street. They lost control on the slick roads and slid into the stop light.
The driver and a passenger were taken to the hospital in a private vehicle. The driver was cited.
On Monday crews worked to repair the stop light.
