(AP) - The Millennium Scholarship fund is getting enough money to send Nevada students to college through 2015.

Members of the Assembly on Monday approved a $10 million contribution from the general fund to the scholarship program. The money was already approved by the Senate and is included in the governor's recommended budget.

The bill is one of several passed this session dealing with the scholarship named in honor of former Gov. Kenny Guinn.

One measure by Boulder City Republican Sen. Joe Hardy encouraging scholarship recipients to volunteer at least 20 hours each year of college was signed by the governor earlier this week.

Another measure sponsored by Reno Republican Senator Ben Kieckhefer and signed into law in April sets up the Memorial Millennium Scholarship for aspiring teachers to finish their credentials.
