The Carson City Senior Center needs some help and all one has to do is vote for them on Facebook.

According to director Janice McIntosh, they have made it as a finalist in Toyota's 100 Cars for Good giveaway program where 100 winners receive a new Toyota vehicle for their non-profit.

Out of 5,000 submissions, the field has been narrowed down to 500 and the Carson City Senior Center is among those.

Each day for 100 days, Toyota is posting on the Toyota Facebook wall the names of five non-profits. The non-profit that gets the most vote on that day, will receive a new Toyota vehicle.

Carson City Senior Center director Janice McIntosh said the Carson City Senior Center is desperate for a new vehicle for their Meals on Wheels program, which delivers between 130-180 meals per day to seniors in the city.

Voting day for the Carson City Senior Center is 6 a.m. to midnight Thursday. They will go up against just four other non-profits in the U.S. The group that receives the most votes will receive the new vehicle.

"Who would think that you would have such awesome odds as one in five," said McIntosh. "We need everybody's help."

McIntosh said that the nature on Meals on Wheels is tough on vehicles.

"We need a new vehicle because there's so much stop and go traffic with them going to one house and a another. And they drive through all the mobile home parks where there are speed bumps. It just plays havoc on the vehicle," said McIntosh. "You think they can go hundreds and hundreds of miles and they can't. They usually make it about seven years, then its just exorbitantly expensive to repair them."

Toyota's 100 Cars for Good program will showcase five non-profit organizations each day for 100 days on Toyota's Facebook page, facebook.com/Toyota.

Visitors to the page can vote once a day for the organization that they feel is most deserving of a new Toyota vehicle.
