Leslie Suzanne (Sue) Borda

April 22, 1953 - March 14, 2011

After a 10-month struggle with cancer, Leslie Suzanne (Sue) Borda passed away peacefully in her home. She was born to George and Mattie Murray in Hayward, Calif. Her family moved to Carson City in 1965. Sue graduated from Carson High School in 1971. She is survived by her husband of 37 years, Thomas Borda; children Stephanie King (Jason and his daughter Alexis), Jessica and Matthew Borda (Laurie); and beloved grand-daughter Jennalynn King. She devoted her life to the students at Bordewich-Bray Elementary School as classroom volunteer, crossing guard and noon aide, but her favorite job there was running the before-school Latch Key Program. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to St. Mary's Hospice or the Boys & Girls Clubs of Western Nevada. There will be a Catholic rosary service at 5:30 p.m. Thursday March 17, 2011, in the small chapel of St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Community with a memorial Mass the following day at 3:30 p.m. in the large chapel. Inurnment will be 10 a.m. Saturday, March 19 at Walton's Carson Gardens Cemetery. Walton's Chapel of the Valley is in charge of arrangements.
