A great dog: Mr. Marston, the appreciative photographer has completed some life-like pictures of "Abe," the office dog of the Appeal, taken when he was fast asleep. In a state of repose there is an intense realism of the dog's heavy fore shoulder and underjaw, terrible in its earnestness and fixed purpose. The eye, even when closed, makes the beholder shudder.

Billy goat: Young Hannifan of Empire was brought to Carson to have a wound dressed which was caused by his being thrown out of a cart drawn by a billy goat. The attending physician pronounced it merely as an ugly laceration.

Altar Society: The regular meeting of Saint Theresa's Altar Society was held at the home of Mrs. George Meyers, assisted by Mrs. W. E. Dunfield and Miss Alice F. Quinlan. The final plans were being made for the annual Saint Patrick's dance to be held at the civic auditorium.

The Carson City Board of Supervisors gave Brewery Arts Center $675,000 to purchase the Catholic Church, its neighbor. "It makes sense for the city to help leverage this opportunity," according to Mayor Ray Masayko.
