Linda Anne (Reid) Bacon entered the Kingdom of Heaven on March 15, 2011, after a long and courageous battle with illnesses. She is survived by Pat, her husband of 51 years; her mother Sue Blon; brothers Bob and Larry Reid; sons Chris and Michael; three grandchildren, five nieces and numerous friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Clyde Bernard Reid. Born in Knoxville, Tenn., on July 14, 1942, she was raised in Florida, where she met and married Pat, then serving in the U.S. Navy. They settled in Carson City in 1963.

Linda enjoyed making new friends, long telephone conversations, attending church, cooking, perfume, make-up, getting her hair and nails done, music, driving her Cadillac and cruising in street rods and Corvettes, and on Tahoe aboard our boat, "Makin' Bacon" as well as the M.S. Dixie.  She loved helping anyone in need, working at Capitol Furnace, flowers, gardening, fine dining at Adele's, dancing at Joe Garlic's in "Old Carson."  She enjoyed life, was an excellent mother, wife, friend and homemaker. Writing long letters to those in need of someone who "cared" for others was a favorite pastime. She would scan the paper for people who were having a hard time, or needed a friend to help them in their hour of need and would immediately reach out to them to offer help, even anonymously.

She was always first in line to help, and last to leave, until the dishes were done, and everyone was content. Most of all, she was always a "Lady", of the highest caliber. If you had Linda for a friend, you had a friend for life. She had that "Southern Charm" that always came to the forefront on any occasion. Linda could always raise your spirits, and make you laugh. She was an early member of many ladies clubs, and served many worthwhile causes. She is dearly missed by all who knew her. May she rest in peace.

Linda chose cremation and will be interred in the Bacon family plot in Carson City. There will be a celebration of life in May at a location yet to be announced. Cards and inquiries may be sent to Pat Bacon, P.O. Box 3037, Carson City, NV 89702. As Linda would have said, "y'all come".
