The Regional Transportation received a $780,656 rebate check from NV Energy last week for installation of solar photovoltaic panels at RTC's Sutro Street and Terminal Way facilities.
The agency also received a $34,684 rebate for installation of energy-savings lights and other energy efficiency improvements.
The solar panels are expected to cut RTC's power bill by about $40,000 a year.
