Pogonip: Fred Campbell writes to the Appeal to decide what pogonip is, having become involved in a dispute on the subject. Pogonip is an Indian name for frosty fog seen in high altitudes. When the pogonip makes its appearance, the Indians retreat to their wickiups and remain under cover until the danger is over.
