Community events raise money for teacher in need

Proceeds from a car wash at 9 a.m. Saturday and Sunday will go to Linda Peton, a teacher's aide at Carson High School in need of a heart transplant.

Peton needs help with lodging and recovery expenses related to the transplant.

The car washes will be at the Office Depot, 222 Fairview Drive.

Carson High School is hosting a taco bar luncheon fundraiser for Peton 11:15 a.m. -12:15 p.m. Monday. Tickets are $5, and it is open to the public.
