Full Circle Compost and Hungry Mother Organics will host a "Spring Kick Off" event today at the center at 3190 Hwy 395 (across from Silver City RV), in Minden.
The day includes workshops, family fun, raffle prizes, vendors, music and more.
Workshops for new or experienced gardeners and farmers will be presented by Craig Witt of Full Circle Compost; Mark O'Farrell of Hungry Mother Organics; Bob Moore a Ornamental Horticulturist; and Travis Unruh of Green Lizard Landscape.
The workshop schedule is:
• 9:30-10:30 a.m. - Travis Unruh, Green Lizard Landscape, on "Proper Tree and Shrub Planting Techniques"
• 11 a.m.-noon - Craig Witt, Full Circle Compost, "It's All About the Soil, Square Foot Gardening"
• 12:30-1:30 p.m. - Mark O'Farrell, Hungry Mother Organics, "Growing the Perfect Tomato"
• 2-3 p.m. Bob Moore, Ornamental Horticulturist, "Growing Successfully in our Nevada Environment.
